Born around 1923 in the region of West Cameroon, Joseph KADJI comes from the large DEFOSSO family of Bana. Fu'a Toula KADJI DEFOSSO caught the commercial virus very early. As a teenager, he deployed his talent in the sale of tobacco and other export products.
In sub-Saharan Africa, he is the first African businessman to launch into brewing by creating in 1972 the Union Camerounaise de Brasseries (UCB). The KADJI family is one of the first to have become aware of the need for maintaining a source of young talent in the field of sport. This is how the Kadji Sports Academy was born (KSA) in 1995.
Among other Group activities, POLYPLAST, a factory producing plastic materials (basins, buckets, racks, etc.), Société des Céréales du Cameroun (SCC): mill based in the port area of Douala, an insurance company: Assurances Générales du Cameroun (AGC). In real estate, the KADJI SQUARE and buildings CAURIS, HIBISCUS and BAOBAB enrich the heritage.

Patriarch KADJI knew how to give and share moments of happiness with as many people as possible. through the foundation that bears his name. He died on August 23, 2018 in South Africa at the age of 95, following a long illness.
